People were speculating whether the new Pope would maintain a robust social media presence, and it was reported on Tuesday that he would continue to use social media like his predecessor, Pope Francis. Judging from Pope Leo’s personal Twitter account, it appeared he was into social media.

Peace be with you all! This is the first greeting spoken by the Risen Christ, the Good Shepherd. I would like this greeting of peace to resound in your hearts, in your families, and among all people, wherever they may be, in every nation and throughout the world.

Pope Leo’s First Social Media Post

And now, we have official confirmation that Pope Leo will, in fact, be using social media, and here’s his first post:

War is never inevitable. Weapons can and must fall silent, for they never solve problems but only intensify them. Those who sow peace will endure throughout history, not those who reap victims. Others are not enemies to hate but human beings with whom to speak.

    War Reflections: Pope Leo’s Message

A few hours later, Pope Leo posted a series of messages about war. His reflections emphasized the importance of peace and the need to move beyond conflict, urging for weapons to fall silent and highlighting the destructive nature of war.
