    The Studio Dominates

The 77th Emmy Awards crowned Apple TV+ hit “The Studio” as the standout of the year. The Hollywood satire collected 13 trophies across both Primetime and Creative Arts categories, including best comedy series. Coming into the ceremony with nine wins already, the show quickly added more, starting with Seth Rogen’s best actor in a comedy victory. Rogen and his longtime collaborator Evan Goldberg later returned to the stage to accept the directing award, making the series the most decorated freshman comedy in Emmy history.

Rogen and Goldberg joined Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, and Frida Perez to win best writing for a comedy series. With that, “The Studio” became the most-awarded comedy series in a single year at the Emmys. Rogen also tied the record for most Emmys won by one individual in one night, joining the likes of Moira Demos, Amy Sherman-Palladino, and Dan Levy.

    Other Big Winners

In the limited series category, “Adolescence” earned eight awards, including best limited series. Stephen Graham, Owen Cooper, and Erin Doherty all won acting honors, while Jack Thorne and Graham took home the writing award. “The Penguin,” which already held eight Creative Arts Emmys, secured a lead actress win for Cristin Miloti.

Freshman drama “The Pitt” captured the top drama prize, with Noah Wyle winning best actor and Katherine LaNasa earning best supporting actress. In total, the show ended the season with five Emmys.

Historic Wins for Talk and Late Night

“The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” celebrated its first-ever Emmy win for outstanding talk series. The recognition came shortly after the announcement that the program will end in 2026. The audience gave Colbert and his team a standing ovation, chanting his name as they accepted the award.

    Hosting Highlights

Comedian Nate Bargatze hosted the ceremony with a unique bit: he deducted money from a pledged $100,000 donation to the Boys and Girls Club each time a winner’s speech ran long. The gag turned bleak as the total dropped to -$50,000 at one point. In the finale, Bargatze and CBS pledged $350,000 to the organization, ending the night on a high note.
